Illinois

Priority Legislation

Clean & Equitable Transportation

HB 5829

Transportation is the largest source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Illinois. The harm from vehicle pollution goes beyond GHGs, and vehicle electrification alone cannot address all the dangers, particularly the negative impacts on low-income individuals and vulnerable road users.

Clean & Reliable Grid

SB 3637

We must accelerate our path to 100% clean, renewable energy by connecting less expensive, reliable, clean energy to Illinois’ electric grid, removing barriers to clean energy deployment, and requiring transparency and public participation from municipal utilities and rural electric cooperatives.

Clean & Healthy Buildings

SB 3935

Burning methane gas in our homes and businesses is expensive, hazardous for our health, and a major contributor to climate change.

Indiana

Priority Legislation

Community Solar

SB 541/HB 1581

Independent community solar enables families and businesses to subscribe to receive credit on their utility bill for a share of the power the community solar panels produce for their home or business. These bills would require the Utility Regulatory Commission to set rules for community solar facilities by July 1, 2025. Within 180 days of these rules, electricity providers must allow customers to connect with community solar projects and credit them for their use of solar power.

Wisconsin

Priority Legislation

Environmental Justice & Community Protection Act

WI ab 796

This bill introduces requirements for facilities in vulnerable communities, defined by income, ethnicity, and language proficiency. AB 796 mandates impact assessments, public reports, and hearings in affected communities for permit applicants. The bill aims to protect these communities from environmental and health hazards by requiring the Department of Natural Resources to consider cumulative impacts and community support before issuing permits.
