Faith in Place Action Fund Announces Endorsed Candidates for the 2024 Election!

The Faith in Place Action Fund (FIPAF) is excited to announce our endorsed candidates and climate champions for the 2024 General Election! These dedicated individuals are leading critical efforts throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin to address climate change and promote environmental justice. As we approach this pivotal election year, we stand behind these candidates, confident that their work will drive positive change for people, the planet, and our collective future.

At the FIPAF, we prioritize endorsing candidates who align with the pillars of our Policy Platform, champion environmental policies, and actively engage with and advocate for their communities. Through grassroots support and our election endorsement process, we proudly lift up leaders who are committed to advancing climate justice and creating healthier communities across our tri-state region.

  • Nabeela Syed for Illinois State House, District 51

Indiana:
  • Erika Robinson-Watkins for Indiana State House, District 4

  • Thomas Horrocks for Indiana State House, District 62

Wisconsin:

Together, we look forward to collaborating with them to drive meaningful progress for generations to come.

Meet Our 2024 Climate Champions!

In addition to our endorsed candidates, we are excited to highlight our 2024 climate champions. These elected officials have shown leadership in advancing our top legislative priorities in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Their commitment to environmental action inspires us, and we are eager to work with them on both current and future policy initiatives.

Illinois:

These legislators sponsored and/or voted to pass HB5005: CEJA Workforce Updates. This new law accelerates the speed at which the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) workforce hubs can be implemented by exempting them from burdensome and unnecessary accreditation requirements. The law also establishes a 14th location for CEJA workforce programming in Kankakee, IL.

Indiana:

These legislators support legislation that will enable Indiana households, small businesses, houses of worship, schools, and local governments to access independent Community Solar projects, making renewable energy options more accessible for all.

Wisconsin:

These elected officials indicated their support for future legislation that will set Wisconsin on the path to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2050, while ensuring that the transition to clean energy will be equitable and inclusive for all communities.

We applaud the dedication of these climate champions. Their efforts to protect our environment and uplift vulnerable communities are crucial in the fight for climate justice.
